Compare purchasing power across years using CPI or inflation scenarios.

Getting a reliable result

Check the currency, period and rate convention before entering amounts. Change one assumption at a time to compare scenarios.

Worked example

At an assumed 4% inflation rate, 100 in the starting year requires approximately 148.02 ten years later to maintain purchasing power. Historical CPI mode instead uses the ratio of two observed annual indexes.

Limitations to check

Rounding, taxes, fees and lender conventions can change real outcomes. Verify estimates against the actual product terms.
